Welcome! We are so glad you are interested in GEOG 3700 02 Wells Gray – Field Studies in Geography (2024/25 academic year).  This course will meet only several times during the normal semester and mostly occur April 24-May 3, 2025 with a maximum of 15 students and two instructors (Crystal Huscroft and Dr. Kim Naqvi) in residence at the TRU Education & Research Centre within the unceded traditional Secwepemc territory of the Simpcw and Tsq’escenemc people. 

The goal of this course is to give students the experience of using a variety of quantitative and qualitative geographical methods to understand a landscape, community, and park in terms of its physical environment, culture, economy, politics, and other factors that affect decisions regarding land and community. This course occurs within the Wells Gray Corridor. Equal time will be spent in the Village of Clearwater and within the wilderness setting of Wells Gray Park.
